We are home now after we had a week walking the Derbyshire Dales (in the heatwave!) as part of our walk from Kent to Cape Wrath. The scenery was stunning but some of the walking was very tough!

The lilacs in my garden this year are incredible. I have brought vases full in the house and though they only last a few days the scent is wonderful and there are lots more outside!

I am working on what I hope will be my next book, about the River Tyne, from source to sea. I have got some great images already!
